CHORAL INFORMATION Any Choral group meeting the respective requirements as listed below may be recommended by the adjudicator into the next (Provincial) level of competition provided an adequate standard of performance has been attained. While performance at the local festival is live, the subsequent competitions/adjudication will be based on an audiotape recording of the two selections. At the Provincial level a choral adjudicator shall hear all tapes and select the choirs, which will represent B.C. at the National level. The winning tapes will be submitted to the National competition by the Provincial Coordinator. Two appointed judges will hear tapes from all provinces and the winners of the five trophy competitions will then be notified. Due to financial reasons, taping of the competitive performances on site may not be feasible. However, if a choral group has met the respective requirements and is recommended to the next level of competition by the adjudicator, it's performance will be taped as per Rule #6, B.C.A.P.A.F Syllabus. Taping 'should be done within three weeks, with the same choir, conductor, accompanist and accompaniment as in the original performance."
*NOTE: Choirs submitting tapes to the Provincial Level of competitions must perform the same selections on which they were recommended by the adjudicator at the local level.
